New Product Options and Product Rule Changes

On Wednesday, May 29th TruStile will be implementing a significant new release for TruQuote as well as some new product options and product rule changes. Extra care has been taken to ensure that the usability of TruQuote stays simple and intuitive after this change, but we recommend reviewing the details below to ensure you are aware of some of the more important updates and changes.

We are also providing a PDF guide for all of these changes that can be downloaded here.

Significant Pre-Hung Product Option Changes and Additions:

Please read below for important updates to TruStile’s pre-hung unit offering. If you do not buy pre-hung units from TruStile, skip to the TruQuote Structure Changes detailed below.

Important Change to Pre-Hung 20 Minute House-to-Garage Sill Options:

TruStile will be making some important modifications to our sill options on all 20-minute house-to-garage pre-hung units moving forward:

  • Pre-hung 20 Minute House-to-Garage Doors will continue to default to include a frame that contains a 20-Minute Fire Label. However, due to new requirements, the only sill option that can be paired with our fire labeled frames will be a composite adjustable sill with a brown composite cap in a bronze or mill finish. [Click here to see image of this sill option]
  • For markets that do not require the frame to be fire labeled in a house to garage opening, you will be able to change your house to the garage door frame to “non-rated” which will provide an Oak Adjustable sill option. This sill option can be selected on the Jamb tab in Advanced options within TruQuote.

New Square T-Astragal Option on Pair Pre-hung Units:

To meet growing market demand for a simple and more contemporary T-Astragal profile, TruStile now has a Square T-Astragal option available. TruQuote will continue to default to a standard, traditional T-Astragal profile. However, by choosing Advanced Options, you will be able to change the “T-Astragal Profile” field on the Main tab from “Standard” to “Square.” See images for examples of these two T-Astragal profile options.

New Solid Poplar Stop Option for Solid Poplar Jambs:

Due to demand we have added a solid poplar stop as a stop material option for solid poplar jambs. You can find this option directly under the jamb stop profile in a new Jamb Stop Material field. Our default will continue to be finger-jointed poplar stop as finger-jointed stop performs better in terms of resistance to warp.

Major TruQuote Structure Changes

The starting door now defaults to 1-¾″ with SS sticking and a C panel:

When starting a new quote, the default door will now default to 1-¾″ thickness and an SS/C profile due to the popularity of these selections.

The “Opening Type” field in TruQuote is changing to offer three new options:

  1. Slab Only: This opening type is for doors that are machined and pre-hung in a dealer door shop. As such, these door types are limited to full and square, bevel both sides or bevel one side. Pre-fit options will continue to be available for Slab Only doors. Slab Only will be the default opening type when you start a new quote.
  2. Swing: Swing should be selected if you require a machined door slab from TruStile or a pre-hung or knocked down jamb unit with your door. Selecting “Swing” will enable all machining and pre-hanging options for your door.
  3. Sliding: When this opening type is selected, it will default the door to contain LVL stiles, which are required for warranty coverage on sliding doors. It will also streamline the machining options to those that are relevant for sliding door applications, making the machining selection process easier for these door types.

Leaf Count is a New Field:

This new field will collect whether your unit is a Single, Pair or Two Leaf/Four Leaf Bi-fold. Previously, these selections were specified in the “Opening Type” field.

Layout Configuration is New Field for Pairs:

This is now a field on the main tab of advanced options where you can select “Pair” or “Common Arched Pair” for pair units with curved top rails.

The Pre-Hanging Field has been changed to “Jamb”:

This field will still operate as it did previously, but it has been moved up in the field order within the main screen and within Advanced Options to make it easier to select a jamb with your door when needed.

Astragal and Astragal Profile are New Fields in Advanced Options:

These new fields are relevant for Pre-Hung Pairs that require a T-Astragal. As detailed above, the Astragal Profile field will allow users to choose between a Standard Ovolo profile and a Square profile for the T-Astragal.

Helpful “Tool Tips” Have Been Added to Provide Helpful Tips with TruQuote:

To help direct users with more information in TruQuote, Tool Tips have been added to certain fields when more information is needed. The Tool Tip will appear when you mouse over a TruQuote field. As shown in this example, if a user has selected an Opening Type of Slab Only, the Jamb Field will provide a Tool Tip that directs users to select an Opening Type of “Swing&rd” to obtain Jamb Options.
